February 16th, 2009 Competition is a great thing. At Crossfit Legacy, we normally do a movement based warm-up that incorporates basic gymnastic moves like push-ups, sit-ups, squat, pull-ups, or dips. We veered from that course this morning to allow our athletes to attempt their 5 rep max of Overhead Squat. Eric and Tomas went as high as they could go, with both trying to beat the other before the Workout of the Day ever started. Final counts....Eric--125lbs, Tomas--115lbs, Terry--85lbs, Matt--95lbs, Angie--55lbs, David--75lbs The takeaway is that competitioon is ESSENTIAL to training. If you want to get better at anything, you have to compete and measure yourself against something or someone else!!! Workout of the Day 6 Hang Clean 12 Push-ups 18 Sit-ups ***4 min AMRAP*** **1 min rest** Complete 4 times Results David--8(65lbs) Angie--9(55lbs) Tomas--9(95lbs) Matt--11(65lbs) Eric--11(95lbs) Terry--8(85lbs) Nice Picture of Tomas as Triple Extension!!! 430pm Class Alex and Brooke did a similar interval training program today, but they enjoyed the following WOD: 10 Thrusters 10 Box Jumps 10 Knee to Elbow 3 min work 1 min rest ***5 times*** Alex is already leaning out on the Zone, and is showing increased intensity!!! Nice hops Brooke!!!
